Mark’s twin passions are for communicating knowledge without trivialisation and supporting critical thinking. He has a unique skill-set that spans technology, learning and communication and is in constant demand as a consultant and communicator for some of the UKs most prestigious cultural organisations as they look to the future.
A professional writer (represented by literary agents Curtis Brown and The Viney Agency) and a former director of two marketing agencies Mark has a keen understanding of the mechanisms of engagement. He has a particular fondness for communicating science and engineering concepts, and is in demand as a facilitator of, and speaker at public events for a variety of organisations, recent commissions coming from The Institute of Psychiatry, The Royal Society of Arts, the National Oceanography Centre, the Dana Alliance of the Brain, Cambridge University and NESTA. His first popular science book ‘A world tour of the future’ is published in 2009.
Mark holds a first class honours degree in Information Technology and is a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
"Mark is passionate about his work and shows the same level of dedication, creativity and enthusiasm for all aspects of a project. He is a great advocate for science but is equally at home working across a range of disciplines, bringing an innovative approach to the diverse challenges we have presented him with. Mark has a great sense of humour and an ability to make the mundane seem much more interesting, it is a always a pleasure to work with him."
